Radiology and Ultrasound at Perry Hall Animal Hospital in Baltimore
Routine radiology services are offered and used to help detect and diagnose a problem or disease within your pet. X-rays are helpful in diagnosing and detecting fractures and broken bones, intestinal foreign bodies, heart enlargement and congestive heart failure, tumors, bladder stones, pregnancies, and much more. In some cases anesthesia is used to ensure the best diagnostic view for the veterinarian. We recently upgraded our x-ray system to a state of the art digital FOVEA system, which offers an immediate crystal clear picture for the best diagnosis!
Radiology consults with a specialist are also offered in difficult cases to offer a second opinion. Our focus is to diagnose and treat your pet as quickly as possible.
Ultrasound procedures are performed by a registered sonographer, at our hospital by Intrapet Imaging. Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless diagnostic tool for viewing the internal organs and evaluating function. It’s often better than x-rays for diagnosing many conditions. Swallowed foreign objects, tumors and diseases can be discovered without surgery. Ultrasound can also help with early detection of pregnancy and facilitate fetal monitoring later in gestation.
